Case Study In The Rubber and Plastic Molding Industry

Kangqian Mould

Kangqian: Plastic Moulds for Mobile Phone Cases, with around 200 employees, located in Longgang, Shenzhen.

Key Controls:

  1. Each worker scans barcodes on the manufacturing order, start code, finish code, and their employee barcode on their factory ID card.
  2. Monitoring the progress of parts, including which process they have reached and the quantity completed.
  3. If a certain process is delayed in starting, a warning message will be displayed on the screen in a scrolling marquee.
  4. Statistical analysis of the actual labor hours for each part, total mold hours, and outsourced processing costs.

Conclusion:

  1. Previously used the Jindi system, but lacked shop floor management capabilities.
  2. Adopting Jiang’s software complemented the shortcomings of the Jindi system, allowing real-time monitoring of production line progress without the need to enter the shop floor.
  3. Daily production reports were previously filled out manually, but with Jiang’s software, barcode scanning replaced manual data entry, saving a lot of time and reducing repetitive work.
  4. Barcode management of the shop floor has increased credibility in labor hours, allowing for fair assessment of individual performance and implementation of performance bonus systems.
  5. Shop floor management is on track: Barcode management fosters self-discipline among workers, reducing management costs, and warnings for delays encourage self-restraint, enhancing management efficiency.
  6. Jiang’s software is easy to operate: With simple training to use the barcode scanner, the production line readily accepts it. Clerks only need to print out the manufacturing orders using a laser printer or inkjet printer to produce beautiful barcodes. Overall, it is user-friendly and can be quickly implemented, with about 2 months to get up to speed.
